Radnor crew makes waves at Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

Radnor High School’s boys and girls crew teams made their mark at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta Oct. 25 in Philadelphia.

The Women’s Novice 8A+ finished 23rd out of 40 with a time of 19:12.05. The Novice 8B+ finished 30th out of 40 with a time of 19:47.20. The Women’s V8A+ boat finished 10th out of 50, with a time of 15:11.90.  The Women’s JV8A+ boat finished 28th out of 58 boats.  The Women’s JV8B+ finished 41st out of 58. The Men’s Varsity 4+ boat took 8th place out of 89 boats with a time of 15:32.94. In the Men’s Novice Category, the 8A+ boat finished 29th out of 47.  The 8B+ boat finished 39th. The Men’s Varsity 8+ took 22nd out of 65 boats with a time of 13:59.03.   The Men’s JV 8+A took 39th out of 62 boats.  The Men’s JV 8B+ finished 58th.

The Radnor Girls Crew Club (RGCC) sent its Varsity 8+ boat to compete in the 51st Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston Oct. 18.  The girls had a successful race navigating a difficult 4.8-kilometer (three mile) course, and finished 52nd out of a field of 85 boats. The Head of the Charles is the world’s largest two-day regatta, with more than 11,000 athletes rowing in more than 2,000 boats.
